A couple months ago Cedric the Entertainer let it slip that Beyoncé would be playing Blues legend Etta James along side him in the new Darnell Martin directed movie Cadillac Records based on the record company, Chess Records, founded by Leonard Chess. But not only will Beyoncé star in the flick, the Golden Globe nominated singer/actress will be one of the project’s Executive Producers according to Billboard.com. Don’t you ever get to thinking Bey is just taking the EP title without the work–Bey will be spending some time in Chicago (home of Chess Records) to do some research on the record label and James. Shooting will take place in New Jersey and Mississippi.
-
B will also lend her famous pipes to the film’s soundtrack with four songs being produced by Steve Jordan.
-
Other stars set for the film include Adrien Brody, Columbus Short, Jeffrey Wright, Emmanuelle Chriqui, and Tammy Blanchard.
-
Beyoncé’s 3rd studio album once slated for Summer is now being pushed to the end of the year so B can focus on this project.
-
Just when you thought you’d get a Beyoncé break, she comes back full force!

Get ‘em, B!
