Meet Adele. She’s already a force in the UK. The 19 year old Londoner released her debut album, 19, in February of 2008 to massive critical acclaim. The album topped the UK album chart and the singles Hometown Glory and Chasing Pavements made their way up the singles chart; the latter reaching number one. Her rich, smokey voice evokes all the soul and passion of the early blues greats like Etta James with enough modern appeal to rival fellow British soul singer Amy Winehouse.
Now the US will have a chance to see what all the well deserved fuss is all about when Adele’s debut album is released stateside this summer on Columbia Records.
