Not even being swallowed whole (and not in the sexy way) by Hot 97’s Miss Jones can keep Day26 down. Their self-titled debut album knocked their Making the Band 4 season two house and label mates Danity Kane from the top spot on the Billboard 200 Album chart this week.
-
The set moved 190,000 copies in the first week and became the biggest debut for a male group since D12 released their album Devil’s Night in 2001.
-
DK suffers a 1-4 slide this week selling 89,000 copies of their sophomore album Welcome to the Dollhouse.
-
Bad Boy is off to a good start. Let’s see if Diddy can keep the momentum going when another MTB4 alumn Donnie Klang’s album is released this Spring.

I reported last week that Mariah Carey was close to securing second place for the most number ones ever on the Billboard Hot 100. Well, ol’ girl did it! Touch My Body jumped from 15-1 on the main singles chart (I will post the entire top 10 chart when it is released tomorrow) on the strength of 286,000 digital downloads.
-
The tally also gives Mariah the record for most digital downloads sold in the first week; the record was formerly held by Rihanna’s Umbrella.
-
Touch My Body becomes MiMi’s 18th number one on the chart putting her one step ahead of Elvis with 17 and 2 steps behind the Beatles with 20.
