//Mixed Bits: Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz Are Engaged, Miley Cyrus Performs on Idol Gives Back and More Hannah Montana Coming//

Looks like the youngest Simpson is getting ready to jump the broom. People.com is reporting that Ashlee Simpson and her Fallout Boy boyfriend, Pete Wentz are now engaged. Ashlee released the following statement:

“We know there has been a lot of speculation recently about Pete and I, and we wanted our fans to be the first to know, because you guys are the best. Yes, we are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged. Thank you for all of your support and well wishes – it means the world to us. We consider this to be a very private matter, and we wanted to be the first to tell you and to hear it straight from us.”

Congrats to the couple! MTV should do a Newly Weds 2008 edition. I would so Tivo that!

Miley Cyrus performed this past weekend on American Idol’s “Idol Gives Back“. On the show, which aired tonight, she performed two songs off her multi-platinum double album, Hannah Montana 2/Meet Miley Cyrus. I like Miley, I really do but vocally, these performances were rough! Wonder what Simon thought. Speaking of Hannah Montana, get ready for more! The Disney Channel has announced the show’s renewal for a 3rd season. Which should mean more soundtracks, tours, and over priced tickets. The scalpers are smiling right now.
