Just in time for Mother’s Day, author Stephanie Hirsch releases her new book Mother Nurture: Life Lessons From the Mothers of America’s Best and Brightest. The book features interviews with the mothers of some of music’s best like Alicia Keys, Beyoncé (photographed above with their moms Terri and Tina), John Legend, Tim McGraw, and Justin Timberlake.

The moms share their stories on how they rasied their star kids. Alicia’s mom, Terri Augello, talks about lecturing the boys who’d call to speak to a young Alicia on respect. Beyoncé’s designer mama, Tina Knowles, talks about the family tradition of eating together.
