Mya suffered a tough break before beginning her stint in the Broadway musical “Chicago“–literally. The singer/dancer was due to start playing the role of Velma Kelly next month in the production but was forced to postpone after breaking her foot. There’s no news on how or exactly when the injury occured, or who will be replacing her, but you can expect to see her join the cast when she’s healed.

Show producer, Barry Weissler, told AP:

“In the theater industry, we are sometimes forced to deal with circumstances beyond our control,” Weissler said. “But speaking for the entire `Chicago’ creative team, we all wish her a speedy recovery and look forward to experiencing her portrayal of Velma Kelly as soon as possible.”

Well, thems the breaks! Sorry, had to get that in there!

Check out pics of Mya and her foot in better days on April 26th performing with the cast of “Chicago” at the 8th annual “Tour For Life.”
