Kanye West, Common, Redman and Method Man have all been named in a lawsuit, along with their record companies, for using samples of late Jazz musician Joe Farrell’s song “Upon This Rock” for three seperate songs without permission.

The lawsuit was filed by Farrell’s daughter Kathleen Firrantello. She is asking for $1 million in damages and that no further copies of the song be made, sold, or performed.

The samples were used in Kanye’s song “Gone,” Common’s song “Chi City,” and Redman and Method Man’s “Run 4 Cover.”

The net was buzzing this week when a gossip blog reported the break-up of Usher and wife of nine-months Tameka Foster. Usher’s manager, Benny Medina, is striking back saying the reports are not true. He told Usmagazine.com:

“It’s 100% not true,” Usher’s manager Benny Medina tells Usmagazine.com.

“Usher and Tameka are currently traveling in Europe together as a family on his promotional tour in support of his album Here I Stand, available May 27,” he added. “This rumor is completely false.”

Ya read that, you haters!? Leave Ushmeka alone! Don’t be mad cus she gets to squeeze his lemonhead and you can’t! Suckas!

Your boy Bow Wow is turning in his mic for his second passion: acting. The 21-year-old rapper wants to focus most of his attention on taking over Hollywood reports Billboard.com.

Actor-rapper Shad Moss, aka Bow Wow, is focusing on acting full time. Moss has joined the upcoming fifth season of HBO’s “Entourage” in a recurring role, playing Charlie, a new stand-up comic client of E (Kevin Connolly).

Additionally, he has landed a role opposite Forest Whitaker, rapper Lil Wayne and Isaiah Washington in the Weinstein Co.’s sports drama “Patriots,” about a high school basketball team in post-Katrina Louisiana.

“After 16 years in the music industry and six successful albums, I’ve decided to shift my energy to something else I’m passionate about, acting,” Moss said. “I’m going to try to be the next Will Smith.”

Because we here at Neon Limelight keeps it all the way positive, we wish him the best of luck. He’ll be able to play a teen in movies until he’s atleast 35. Not a bad gig.
