Say “So long” to Ashlee Simpson. According to the Associated Press, the newlywed Ash, who married Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz two weeks ago, is changing her name to Ashlee Wentz. In public she will go by Ashlee Simpson-Wentz.
“I think that that’s something that a woman should do when they’re marrying a man,” the pop star lil’ sis of Jessica Simpson told the magazine. “It’s a tradition that I think is a great tradition.”
Awesome! Yeah, this really isn’t news but I needed a reason to post that pic. Pete is so warm.

The adoption for Madonna’s 2-year-old son, David Banda, is finally official after 18 months. Madonna adopted David from an orphanage in Malawi in 2006 when he was 13-months-old. She was allowed to take him home when she received a temporary custody order. Madge caught heat in the media for the adoption–she was accused of going through the Malawian adoption laws that bans outsiders from adopting children from Malawi.
The judge wasn’t concerned about the media criticism. He deemed Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie the “perfect parent.”
Madge’s lawyer told reporters:
“We are very happy with what the judge has ruled. It is a positive and beautiful judgment that will have an impact on Malawi’s adoption laws.”

Ne-Yo has written songs for a slew of artists but even he was taken aback when reps for Lindsay Lohan gave him a call to write a song for the troubled actress/”singer.” The result was LL’s new single, “Bossy,” and it left my dear Shaffer eating his words when he heard the finished product :
“I gotta admit, we were like … Lindsay Lohan?’” Ne-Yo says with a laugh. “I mean, I’ve written for Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Celine Dion and … Lindsay Lohan? But I will say this; we gave her a quality record and she did a ridiculously fabulous job. I was so shocked I had to call her and apologize for what I was thinking because she did so good. I think the world is gonna be surprised.”[Source]
Eh. Can’t say I agree with you there, Shaff! But I will say that the song isn’t totally terrible.
