Fresh off of his win for Best Male R&B Artist at the BET Awards, Chris Brown is already thinking about the follow-up to his platinum plus album “Exclusive.” During an interview with the Russ Parr Morning Show, Chris revealed some details about the new set. He’s already come up with a title for the album: “Graffiti.”
As for the musical direction of the album, Breezy’s echoing Ne-Yo’s statements about staying in the urban lane. “I wanted to change it up and really be different,” Chris said, “like my style now a days, I don’t try to be typical urban. I wanna be like how Prince and Michael and Stevie Wonder were. They can cross over to any genre of music.”
Chris even hinted he’d be doing a little rapping on the new album while talking about his verse over Lil Wayne’s “A Milli” beat. “I heard the song….Imma just play around with it. I’m not really spitting like I’m gonna be spitting on my new album. Imma just give them a teaser”
Of course, what’s an interview with CB without bringing up his rumored girlfriend, Rihanna? Though Rih is still playing it a bit too coy, Chris is getting a little more open with how he describes their relationship. “Our relationship is growing. We started off as friends and we’re getting a little bit closer now.”
He shot down claims that they are just friends with benefits, insisting that makes them sound “cheap.”
Hoping to avoid the rage on the Chris Brown message boards, Chris quickly added, “But I don’t want to let down all my girlfriends, so all the ladies out there, I still love y’all!”
And does Mama Breezy like Miss Rihanna? “Yeah yeah, she’s real cool. They’re both light skin with green eyes, so…” Ahh. So it must be love then.
No time table for the release of “Graffiti” but expect Chris to do a lot more writing. One song Chris penned for Rihanna, “Disturbia,” is expected to make a very high debut on the Billboard Hot 100. The chart will be released later today.
