New Music: Ne-Yo – Nobody; Preview More From Year Of The Gentleman

Ne-Yo recently spoke to MTV about a song on his new album, “Year of the Gentleman,” called “Nobody.” With every album, Ne-Yo makes it a point to have a song that pays tribute to Michael Jackson. For this album, “Nobody” is that cut. Much like “Can We Chill” from his last album, this song is a throwback to MJ’s Thriller days. MJ loves the way Ne-Yo does Michael Jackson and so do I. Take a listen to the song above.

MTV’s Tim Kash crashed Ne-Yo’s recording session and got the singer/songwriter to give the fans a little preview of a few songs on the new album. Along with previewing “Nobody,” Ne-Yo let us sample the socially aware “What’s The Matter,” the song I fell in love with during his Walmart Soundcheck “So You Can Cry,” and the beautiful “Stop This World.” (He performed the song on All My Children in May.)

I’m absolutely in love with every song I’ve heard. This album will be one of the best R&B records released this year–you can quote me on that. Ne-Yo does not fool around when it comes to his music. Check out the preview of the other songs here.
