//New Music: Ne-Yo – Miss Independent//

After much speculation over what the next single from Ne-Yo’s upcoming Year of the Gentleman would be (some said “Stop This World“; others said “So You Can Cry“), Ne-Yo set the record straight posting this mid-tempo cousin to hit first hit “So Sick” called “Miss Independent” on his blog. I say it’s So Sick’s cousin because it has many of the elements that made the Las Vegas-bred singer/songwriter a star: smooth melody, lyrics that will get on the good side of his female audience, and no production info but it definitely has that Stargate sound.

The album is still listed for a August 5th release on Amazon.com but I’m a bit put off that his Def Jam sites are saying “coming soon.” We’ll see! I’ll keep you updated.
