All the server issues from yesterday almost made me miss out on writing about the story of the century: the new Beyoncé Feria Hair Color ad. A hord of media outlets came out to trash the ad and L’Oreal for seemingly “white-washing” the entertainer by lightening her skin tone for the ad.
Today L’Oreal slammed back with a statement:
We highly value our relationship with Ms. Knowles. It is categorically untrue that L’Oreal Paris altered Ms. Knowles’ features or skin tone in the campaign for Feria hair color.[Source]
Maybe it’s just me and grandma needs a new bifocal prescription but I don’t see the big deal. Having been face to face with The Mighty B more times than I’ll probably admit to, the picture doesn’t seem to be any lighter than it should be given the light background and studio lights. I’m more offended by the mannish looking shot they used and the obvious use of wigs and weavery for a hair color ad. Un-freakin-savory!
While you get your Dereon intimates in a bunch over that ad, check out some video of the Dereon Fall season ads:

I agree TJ. I do not think this picture is that off from her face-to-face complexion. Plus, she is probably staying inside a lot more now so she can wear her pretty wedding ring without paps getting the pictures of it!!
hehehe!
