American Idol‘s 8th season will be premiering this January and to go along with the new talent Idol will be adding a new judge reports Us Weekly. I know…”Say what now!?” was my reaction, too.
Paula Abdul will no longer be the only lady at the judges’ table. Joining Paula, Simon Cowell, and Randy Jackson at the table to sip on spiked Coca Cola will be Kara DioGuardi, a Grammy-nominated songwriter (you mean she hasn’t even won one and she’s….nevermind) whose has worked with some of pop music’s most elite like Christina Aguilera, Pink, Jonas Brothers, Celine Dion, and Britney Spears. She’s also written for past Idol contestants and winners like Katherine McPhee, Bo Bice, Taylor Hicks, Kelly Clarkson, and Carrie Underwood.
Idol’s executive producer Simon Fuller said in a statement:
“We are turning the heat up on Idol this year and are thrilled to welcome Kara to the judges’ table. She is a smart, sassy lady, and one of America’s most successful songwriters. We know she will bring a new level of energy and excitement to the show.”
Is this the beginning of the end for Idol? Well, I’d say that was last year’s extremely boring competition, but let’s hope that even though Paula will not be the only lady on the panel this year that she remains the only crazy on it. Undelightful!

Sounds like Simon is slowly trying to turn it into “X factor”.
Bye Paula!!
