OK. I have a confession: I used to have a very love/hate relationship with Solange. I bought her debut album Solo Star–and I’m not talking about at one of those $7.99 sales either–I paid the full 13.99 when it was released because that’s how strong my stan went and she had some great songs on it (“So Be It” and “This Could Be Love“ are classic!). But as time went by, she annoyed the crap out of me for some reason. One could say it’s because I was just a dang hater. A friend of mine forced me to watch Bring It On: All or Nothing–I loved it. Then music from SoL-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams leaked–I loved it. And now the love is all pure–no hate here!
With that dandy intro, it’s going to be hard for me to see Solo as anything but sheer flyness. My stan-colored glasses can’t see anything wrong with what she wore to perform on TRL this week. Even the Afghan puppies on her feet are fly. Where’s bad!? Show me, and I’ll show you blue lights and yellow stars when I bop you in the face with my mint condition, unwrapped BabyJamz boombox, sucka!
