Remember back to 3 years ago when a little Caribbean girl named Rihanna hit the scene with her debut single “Pon de Replay“? You ‘member, ‘member? She had long, wavy brown hair and everyone was convinced she resembled the perfect collision between Beyoncé and Tyra Banks. It’s hard to believe the Rihanna of today–extra short black hair, multiple tattoos, a naughty piercing, and glam-rocker chick fashion sense–is the same girl. While there is little doubt that without the drastic makeover Rihanna would have faded into the background like the rest of the clones, I still kinda miss the old Rih.
“Pon de Replay” was cool but it was the second single from her debut album, Music of the Sun, that solidified my Rihanna fan status. The video for “If It’s Lovin’ That You Want” had everything: the beach, hot guys, cute singer with fab make-up, and sweet dance moves–yes, Rih used to dance! Plus the song is so damn catchy.

So, many bloggers are ripping my dear Rih a brand new one for her vocally weak performance at the VMAs earlier this week. Though I can be convinced to agree with some of them to an extent, I know there’s a good voice in there. Check the video above! A-damn-dorable!!! Sing it, Robyn!
Love her voice…she really can sing but she always lets her nerves get the better of her while performing…whenever she is on tour she gives the best performances because i think she doesnt worry about being judged because it her fans that came to see her
