Clay Aiken is finally revealing the world’s worst kept secret: he is gay. Surprised much? Yeah, I don’t think anyone is, but I still hear the breaking hearts of a bajillion Claymates around the world. Kinda sounds like this.

Clay is featured on the latest cover of People Magazine with his son, Parker Foster Aiken. Inside the magazine he comes out of the closet and the reason for finally confirming what was almost obvious: “I cannot raise a child to lie or hide things.”

People will be releasing the article to the Associated Press tomorrow. More info about the magazine’s newsstand date will follow.
