//Mixed Bits: Fall Out Boy’s Album Delayed; Docs Put Janet’s Show On Ice; MIA Is Expecting//

Fall Out Boy was set to release this new album Folie a Deux on election day (November 4), but now that date has been scrapped. The band took to their website to explain why the album’s date had to be pushed back:
6 months ago we thought it would be a fun idea to release our album on election day but this is not the election to be cute. This is the most important election of our time and, as much as the record is a social commentary and the term “folie a deux” is relevant to the candidates, we felt as though rather than making a commentary we were only riding the wave of the election. This seemed less and less like what we intended to do and more of a gimmick.
The guys are adamant about having the album come out this year. At the time of their first message, there was no confirmed date. Just hours ago, they made a new post revealing the new date would be December 16.
Folie a Deux will be released on December 16. While that late in the year may be a surprise to some, we felt that it was important to get our record out this year for our fans. Though this is not the date we had originally planned nor the optimal date according some demographic marketing analysis, we put our eight feet down told our label it must come out this year. We’re already bummed enough that Chinese Democracy [Guns N' Roses's new album] is gonna beat us to release.
Savory!

Janet Jackson was to resume her Rock Witchu tour this week but doctors have nixed that plan for the singer. Several more dates have been postponed on the tour at the advice of a doctor, including Jackson’s show at Madison Square Garden. Jackson fell ill and was rushed to a hospital in Montreal a couple weeks ago, but still no word on what condition Janet is recovering from.

MIA has all eyes on her when she performed at Diesels XXX party in NYC this weekend. Not just because she was burning up the stage performing her hit “Paper Planes” but because she was sporting a rather noticeable baby bump, confirming speculation that she’s expecting her first child with fiance musician Ben Brewer. She told Pitchfork Media in an interview before hitting the stage, “I’m creating a baby.” She also made sure to add, “I got engaged first, then I got pregnant, kids.”
No word on the due date or gender of the baby but expect for the word to get a little bit cooler when the kid arrives. Congrats to her!
