//Events: The 2008 World Music Awards – Show And Backstage//

 

Beyoncé rocked the stage for all the “Single Ladies” while showing off her wedding ice at the 2008 World Music Awards in Monte Carlo, Monaco yesterday. She also received a special award for her Oustanding Contribution to the Arts.

  

 

Also a performer and winner for the night was the freakin’ QUEEN, Alicia Keys. She won the award for World’s Best R&B Artist. They got that right!

  

Others who attended, won, and/or performered were Mariah Carey and her snugglebuns Nick Cannon, Akon, Solange, Michelle Williams, Estelle, Kid Rock and more.

Mariah Carey, who was joined by her husband Nick Cannon, won a special award for her…uhh..Special Acheivements in music.

  

Akon won for being the Biggest Internet Act

 

Solange performed and looked great doing it. I stan for Sol-Angel but can someone please tell me when was the last time Solange’s album made such a huge impact around the world that it warranted a performance at the WMAs? Something tells me some 2-for-1 deal making was going on for this to happen. SUSPECT!

 

Michelle Williams co-hosted the event with Jesse Metcalfe. Hell, make that a 3-for-1. They’ve all gotta go now!
