//From Gossip Girl To The Billboard Charts: Leighton Meester Talks ‘Edgy’ Debut Album//

You might know Leighton Meester as the uber-bitchy, but too-adorably-cute to hate Upper East side, Manhattan snob Blair Waldorf of the addictively awesome CW drama Gossip Girl, but the 22-year-old actress also wants you to know her as a pop star. The doll-faced brunette is currently working on her debut album that she promises will be less Britney Spears “Baby One More Time” and more Lady GaGa “The Fame.” In the February 2009 issue of Teen Vogue, Meester revealed the direction of her musical side gig, telling the mag, “The music is very fun. It’s edgy, like electropop rather than bubblegum and you can dance to it.”

Don’t fret, B fans. Even though she’s serious about this album, which is slated to be released in spring, there’s still more Blair left in her. “I don’t want to stop playing the character. It would be like part of me going away.”
