As predicted last week, Beyonce‘s massive hit single “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” closed 2008 at No. 1 and begins 2009 in the same position.

The song rings a fourth non-consecutive week on top of the Billboard Hot 100. Ladies is sitting pretty on the No. 1 throne thanks to staggering sales of 382,000 downloads last week according to Nielsen SoundScan.

“Single Ladies” comes from Beyonce’s hugely successful third album, I Am…Sasha Fierce, which sits at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 album chart this week.

Bey’s closest competition comes from Lady GaGa whose “Just Dance” featuring Colby O’Donis rises from 3-2 thanks to a huge digital download showing of 419,000.
