//Mariah Carey Remakes Her Classic “Hero” For Her Album “The Ballads”//

Mariah Carey, post Honey era, is known for getting half naked, her lack of dancing skills and delivering club friendly songs. But before Mariah became obsessed with her ensembles, she was belting out some of the best songs of our generation. Already released overseas, Mariah will release a collection of some of those songs on a greatest hits CD titled Mariah Carey: The Ballads.

To celebrate its US release, Mimi rerecorded one of her biggest hits, 1993’s Hero. It has been over 15 years (wow!) since the song was recorded and it shows in this performance. But I’ll cut her some slack. I thought it was still pretty damn good. The Ballads will be released on January 20th.

Am i just not listening properly, or did she basically just record it how she performs it live??

15 years?! Oh jeez. I miss the real exaggarated hand movements.

  2. Nights says:

I think she did very well.. WOW..15 years ago that means I was 12 when I try to sing those amazing songs..LOL..I know now Im not the great singer like I thought…thats why im not on american idol.

I love Mariah, but her voice is not sounding so good lately…from the horrid Touch my body on SNL, to the draining Bye Bye on SNL…and all this lipping the High Notes and Hard Parts and only singing the low parts live..her voice is NOT right. Only way to prove it…do an Unplugged again, or sing I Wish U Well live with just piano…other than that her voice is Horrid.

This is the live version. its ok. She does not sound like the Mariah of “old”, she has more soul now, it’s sad that Mary J, Keyshia cole, beyonce are outsinging her, weird cuz they looked up to her.

She needs to put the tits away, the big shoes, and just sing again

  5. MIKE says:

she did not focus on her cd she was running around with nick and forgot that she had a new cd out and fans. but i guess its her life, and the poor record sales prove that in these days and times you have to WORK for a hit. and her lazy ass didn’t.

  6. Perez says:

How is she lip-singing a “live” version????????? will she ever sing live again?????????

What is wrong with her voice?

  7. Gigi says:

I think her voice is slowly becoming sronger. 6 months ago she could not have done Hero at all.

  8. Yale T. says:

Does the voice lose some of it’s shine when people get older? It seems like Mariah, Whitney and Michael Jackson’s voices have all changed. Mariah use to could hit incredible notes (think IF IT’s OVER on the Grammy’s or SOMEDAY on Unplugged), only Whitney could hang with her vocally. Now it seems like her voice is a 1/2 of what it use to be.

I Understand she’s 38 Years old, but her voice has lost some of it’s shine. Hero sounds battered here, is she trying to sound more soulful, if so stop, Her fans love her growth, but vocally she needs to focus.

Too much drama with her, she has to be helped on the stage cuz she can’t walk in her shoes, she lip-sings most high notes, deciving her fans at concerts.

When will this madness with her voice and the studio tricks, Can this woman sing LIVE anymore?
