Being a success on American Idol isn’t all about vocal talent. You have to have the “it” factor. While season six of American Idol did have great singers (Jordin Sparks and Melinda Doolittle to name a few), it was the oh-so-smooth beat boxer, Washington native Blake Lewis that held my attention.

Blake wasn’t always the best vocally but it was his killer ability to re-arrange a song, take a risk and his fancy dance steps that drew votes and got the techno lover to the runner up position. Fans stood up and noticed this during British Invasion week when Blake took on The Zombies‘ Time of the Season. Many Blaker Girls were born after this one. Take a peek!
