The-Dream may have had a hand in delivering some of the biggest hits for two of pop’s biggest artists–he penned “Umbrella” for Rihanna and “Single Ladies” for Beyonce with his partner Tricky Stewart–but he’s yet to score a major crossover hit for himself. That may all change with the release of his newest single “My Love” featuring another pop diva, Mariah Carey. The silky smooth R&B tune will appear on the singer/songwriters upcoming album, Love vs. Money, being released on February 17.
If you’re looking for some hot vocal performance from The-Dream, then you’re out of luck (Mariah has the vocals covered, though. She sounds great!). He’s clearly at his best behind the boards, but his talent for writing killer hooks that stick in your head is clear on this track. This is a sure-fire winner–but I can’t help to think this would be better as a summer release. Check it!

This song is cool minus Mariah’s bawling near the end. Her featuring verse was very smooth though.
