//Aretha Franklin Performs At President Barack Obama’s Inauguration//

Today is a historic day in these United States of America. Barack Obama was sworn into office becoming the 44th president of the nation–the first African-American to hold the highest official seat of the country.

It’s only fitting that a man who promises as much greatness as the new president does be serenaded by a woman who has proven she has the ultimate musical greatness: Aretha Franklin.

The queen of soul performed a rousing rendition of “My Country Tis of Thee” before a crowd of millions who turned out for President Obama’s inauguration in Washington DC.

More over the top than her vocal acrobatics was her hat with a huge bedazzled bow attached. And while normally we’d make a big stink about how ridiculous the bow was, it all fit together. Gotta dress like royalty to sing for modern day royalty. Check it!

I thought it was beautiful even tho her voice was just OK. It made me cry..maybe it was the song itself..and the church feeling it gave.yup thats it.
