//Duffy, Coldplay, Beyonce Score Brit Award Nominations//

The nominations for the 2009 Brit Awards (the British equivalent to the Grammys) were announced today. Leading the pack of nominees is blond-haired soul singer Duffy with four nods including Best British Breakthrough Act, Best British Album, Best British Single for “Mercy,” and Best British Female.

Adele and Coldplay follow closely with three nominations, while Estelle, Kanye West and Radiohead all go for a twofer.

On the international side, Beyonce and Pink will slug it out with newcomers Katy Perry, Gabriella Cilmi, and Santagold for Best International Female. Hip hop heavyweights Jay-Z and Kanye West will vie for Best International Male against Neil Diamond, Seasick Steve, and Beck.

The show will take place Feb 18 at Earl’s Court in London and will be co-hosted by Kylie Minogue. Performers include Duffy, U2, Pet Shop Boys, and Kings of Leon.
