It was announced yesterday by a rep for Michael Jackson that the singer’s legendary music video for Thriller will become the backdrop of a Broadway musical.
The Nederland Organization said in a statement to the Associated Press, “This musical will be the exclusive Michael Jackson authorized version of ‘Thriller’ and Jackson will participate in every aspect of the creative process.”
Expect Thriller, The Musical to be the expanded love story between Jackson’s shy guy with a secret character and his unsuspecting girlfriend like in the 14-minute Grammy-award winning music video.
Music for the show will be pulled from the 50-year-old’s blockbuster album Thriller and 1979′s Off The Wall.
No word on who will direct, choreograph, or write the book for the show.
They really need to stop making musicals on celebrities. Supposedly the Beckhams and Obama..and now Michael? Oh dear.
