//Mandy Moore To Release New Album, Amanda Leigh, In May//

It’s been a few years since Mandy Moore shed her teeny bopper blond pop clone ways. She chopped her hair off, went brunette, and built a pretty solid acting career. She also delivered an album that completely separated her from the Britneys, Christinas, and Jessicas she fought to overcome comparisons to in the beginning of her near-decade long career, the critically acclaimed Wild Hope.

The album worked wonders building credibilty for Moore as a real artist intent on making music that would last longer than the fizz in a bottle of pop after its been opened. She’ll continue her ascent into the Adult Contemporary world with the follow-up to Wild Hope, her most personal effort appropriately titled Amanda Leigh (the singer’s birth name), on May 26.

Much of the new album is co-written by Moore and Mike Viola and was inspired by artists like Todd Rundgren, Joni Mitchell, CSNY and Nilsson. “I’m connected to these songs and how they came to fruition in a way I’ve never been able to articulate before,” she said of the new album. ”The entire experience was one that I will undoubtedly replicate.”

More information about the new album can be found by visiting Mandy’s official website.
