It hasn’t even been a full day since American Idol revealed the top 36 contestants who will sing for America’s votes and already one of them is out.
Us Weekly reports Joanna Pacitti, the honey-voiced singer whose success on Idol was somewhat controversial considering her past record label deal, has been disqualified from the show.
“It has been determined that Joanna Pacitti is ineligible to continue in the competition,” read the press release from Fox.
According to US, it is suggested she had a close relationship with two 19 Entertainment execs. 19 produces American Idol.
Her spot will be filled by Felicia Barton.
The performance and voting round starts Tuesday (Feb. 17).
the judges seemed to be keen on keeping Pacitti around, so why not keep her on the show? the show seems to thrive on scandal anyway…
