//Rihanna’s Father Speaks About Chris Brown’s Alleged Assault On Daughter//
Many of Chris Brown’s relatives have come forward to speak about his alleged assault on girlfriend Rihanna. But besides a few unnamed friends, Rihanna’s family has been quiet–until now.
Ronald Fenty, Rihanna’s father, spoke to People.com about his daughter’s current condition. “There is some bruising. She will be alright. I think so,” he told the website.
He confirmed his daughter had return to her native Barbados to heal with friends and family by her side.
(He later told Us Weekly he hasn’t seen his daughter’s injuries and would not say where she is at the moment.)
When he first heard of the incident, he admits he “didn’t believe it.” “You think you know somebody, but you really don’t.”
He last saw Rihanna and Brown together in July when the two enjoyed a getaway to Barbados between touring and TV appearances. “They seemed pretty happy. I don’t know what went wrong.”
He doesn’t think his daughter will remain silent on the issue forever and even hopes she’ll take this experience and uses it to help other women. “At some point, she will speak out. I hope she will stand up for women all over the world.”
Chris Brown’s biological father, Clinton Brown, also spoke out, saying his son is home reflecting feeling ”very remorseful” and wants to make sure Rihanna “is OK.”
Brown is due in court March 5.
