The Pussycat Dolls are getting in on the Slumdog Millionaire sensation by making an English interpretation of A.R. Rahman‘s 2009 Oscar winner for Best Original Song “Jai Ho!” The song serves as the finale for the movie which walked away with the prize for Best Picture. Nicole Scherzinger‘s lead vocals were expertly produced by super-producer Ron Fair resulting in majestic blend of two very different musical words. I like the original version and think it’s cheap to rip off of the original track but I’m thankful that I can finally know what they’re saying in the song!
…except that the lyrics of PCD’s cover are not the English translation of the Hindi words in the original.
