Oscar and Grammy winner Jennifer Hudson paid the Oprah Winfrey show a visit which aired on Friday (Feb. 27). The R&B powerhouse spoke about her surreal experience at the Grammys being presented with her award for Best R&B Album by her idol Whitney Houston. The moment was one she dreamed of since she was a little girl. “I used to create duets with Whitney’s records and myself. And then I would stand in the mirror and practice my Grammy speech,” Jennifer said. “That almost surpassed winning the Grammy for me.”
While Oprah made no direct mention of the October slayings that claimed the lives of Jennifer’s mother, brother and nephew, she did ask Jennifer how she was doing. “I’m good. I’m really good. I’m just glad to be back and be back to work again, and just doing what I love to do. It’s like therapy.” Jennifer added: “I’m in a very good place. I pray every morning.”
