//Chris Brown Charged With Two Felonies In Alleged Rihanna Assault//

As Chris Brown heads to court today (March 5) for arraignment in the Feb. 8 altercation with girlfriend Rihanna, news broke early this afternoon that the 19-year-old R&B star has been charged with two felonies in the case.

He has now been formally charged with making a criminal threat, a felony that carries a penalty of up to nine years in prison. He will also face a felony assault charge.

Arraignment is scheduled for 3:30PM PST. Brown must appear.

Brown’s reconciliation with his alleged victim will not hinder the prosecution’s case. People.com reports that under California law, the singer can be prosecuted based on Rihanna’s original statements given to LAPD police officers following the brutal fight and the evidence against him.
