From the minute Anoop Desai‘s American Idol season 8 audition aired, I was smitten. You don’t see many like Anoop. Of course his ethnicity has a lot to do with how unique he is, but he’s also beyond charming and did I already mention crazy talented? So, I must disagree wholeheartedly with my buds from Bring Da Beat Back who say Anoop is the 2009 version of Sanjaya Malakar. No way, no how!
Take the above video for example. Anoop Dogg and his pals of the UNC Clef Hangers performed an acapella version of Chris Brown and T-Pain‘s “Kiss Kiss“ with the Dogg singing lead vocals (which is completely weird because when he went through to the top 13 last week, I randomly said it would be funny to see him do a Chris Brown song one day before I knew of this video’s existance). Even in the midst of a cheesy glee club performance, Anoop owns the stage. And HELLO!! Do you see that sexy vest? I. Want. Now.
