//American Idol Recap: Results – Top 10 Picked For Summer Tour As Another One Goes Home//

Another one bites the dust.

American Idol got down to its top 10 contestants on last night’s show as another singer packed up to head home. Not only were their dreams of Idol stardom dashed, but gone was also the chance to tour this summer of the American Idols Live tour performed by the ten contestants who stick it out the longest.

Last night’s results were a bit of surprising, but was in no way was it the shocker it’s being hailed as in the blogosphere. More shocking than the final result was who landed in the dreaded bottom three.

First to be called to face the stools on the far left of the stage was 16-year-old powerhouse rocker Allison Iraheta. Visibly (and audibly) shocked, she made her way to the stool as she hugged fellow contestant Michael Sarver who stood with her to hear the results.

After Allison was seated, Ryan Seacrest told Michael to stand back up and join Iraheta–he, too, was in the bottom three.

As more and more contestants got the good news that they’d be heading out on a summer tour, one more contestant waited her fate. It came down to 21-year-old mom Alexis Grace. The bluesy singer took on “Jolene” the night before with mixed reviews from the judges, but others were panned much more than Grace.

With the bottom three complete, Ryan allowed Allison to go back to her seat to safty for one more week.

Faced with the elimination of either Michael Sarver or Alexis Grace, Ryan asked the judges if they’d consider using their one and only save for the season. Without saying who, Simon confirmed he, Randy, Kara, and Paula would consider using it for one of them should they get the boot.

And their choice, Alexis Grace, was given the big cowboy boot. She was given a chance to sing for her save, but ultimately her shaky second attempt at “Jolene” just wasn’t enough to save her.

The remaining 10 constestants will perform Wednesday (March 25) with results on Thursday. The theme will be celebrating 50 years of Motown.

Why 50 years of Motown? Not worth celebrating at all. Anyway I was sorry to see the White girl leave. I hoped Fantasia would leave or Lil Rounds whatever its name is. America does not need another hoodrat Idol.
