American Idol’s theme this week was good ol’ Country music. More specifically, it was music from the Grand Ole Opry. Most of the Idol contestants brought their A game when performing some of the genres best songs so it was only right that Idol brought on some of the genres best stars to show them all how it’s really done during the results.
Starting things off for the night’s performances was Country superstar and Grand Ole Opry member, Brad Paisley. Brad performed his new single, Then, for the first time ever on TV. After the performance, host Ryan Seacrest jokingly gave him the “results” of his performance. I give it a solid B+. Brad’s new album, American Saturday Night, will hit stores June 30th.

The Grand Ole Opry’s newest female inductee and one of American Idols most successful stars, Carrie Underwood also appeared on the somewhat shocking results show. Carrie had the honor and pleasure of performing a duet with Country legend and this week’s mentor Randy Travis. The two performed the song I Told You So for the first time live on TV.
Carrie’s voice was so good, you’d wet your pants!

I’m a huge Brad Paisley fan and just entered a contest to win free tickets at http://www.billboard.com/#/events/win-brad-paisley-tickets-1003995502.story. Part of the proceeds go to a charity of your choice through an organization called Tickets for Charity. I’ve never heard of this before, but I think this is a pretty great idea!
