//Live Performance Goodness: Beyonce Kicks Off I Am… Tour In Edmonton, Covers Alanis Morissette And Sarah McLachlan//
You Oughta Know – Alanis Morissette cover
Finally! Beyonce is right where she needs to be–on tour! The bonifide superstar makes great hits in the studio but it’s on stage where she shines the brightest. I mean, she is the greatest entertainer of our generation, right? If Kanye says it, it must be true. Bey and her alter ego Sasha Fierce kicked off the highly anticipated I Am… tour last night in Edmonton, Canada.
According to reports, the Canadian kick off stop was being used as “paid rehearsals.” The media wasn’t allowed to take pictures and weren’t provided with review tickets, but that didn’t stop editors from supplying writers with tickets at their own cost to attend and review.
And the reviews are glowing. Jam! Showbiz writes: “As with her tour in 2007, there was also the extra-large all-girl band, the phalanx of backup dancers drilled in the latest artful choreography, songs spanning a remarkable career – solo and with Destiny’s Child – in a wide range of musical styles, not to mention a remarkable vocal range, and of course the riveting presence of the star herself.”
The press may not have been allowed to photograph or film, but the good fans are always reliable. Check out some video from the first stop.

this was so good
the alanis morisette was awful. beyonce needs to leave classics alone. she performed her own songs well.
Love B…but her new lp does not live up to her other two..so takes others songs now…dont get me wrong..I love her and her voice..but she needs to be careful of the covers she takes…Alanis and Sarah have vocal styles that are unique to them..if B wants to take a cover..take a bland song and put the B power into it..
It was amazing, we were on our feet the whole night ! It was full of suprises and she sung and danced well alll night loved it !!!!!!!!
