//Chris Brown Pleads Not Guilty In Rihanna Case, Hearing Set For April 29//

Chris Brown was back in a Los Angeles courtroom today with his attorney Mark Geragos to face arraignment on two felony charges stemming from a bloody fight with girlfriend Rihanna almost two months ago.

Just as expected, the 19-year-old R&B star plead not guilty to both charges — assault likely to produce great bodily injury and making criminal threats.

A preliminary hearing at which all parties will discuss the case ahead of an official trial has been set for April 29. Neither Brown nor Rihanna — who is currently in Barbados with family and friends — need to appear at the hearing.

Rihanna’s attorney Donald Etra spoke to the media in a press conference following Brown’s arraignment. He maintained that Rihanna will “do everything that’s required of her to do,” but insists she would like the case resolved “quickly and fairly.”

Brown is likely to accept a plea deal to avoid a trial; Etra confirmed there are negotiations for a deal in the works.
