Kanye West is not yet ready to face the music — or the judge.
West was due to be arraigned today (April 14) on three misdemeanor charges including vandalism, grand theft and battery stemming from a September 2008 scuffle at LAX between the rapper, his road manager and a paparazzo, but the judge presiding over the case granted his attorney’s request for a delay this afternoon.
According to the Associated Press, West’s attorney, Blair Berk, stated Monday (April 13) was the first time she was allowed to look over the police report from the incident and that she is waiting for prosecutors to present her with more evidence before West makes a plea.
Video footage of the fight was posted online by TMZ. In the video, West can be seen with his road manager wrestling a camera away from a paparazzo then breaking the camera into pieces.
The new arraignment date is May 20.
