//Singer Michelle Williams Headed To “Chicago” Via London’s West End//

Former Destiny’s Child singer Michelle Williams is no stranger to the theatre stage. In 2003, she took over the lead role in the Broadway production of Elton John and Tim Rice‘s Aida. In early 2007, Michelle appeared on stage as the fiesty Shug Avery in the touring production of the hit musical The Color Purple. The nearly full year engagement saw Michelle perform in Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Tempe with the cast that also included American Idol season 3 star Latoya London.

With an already impressive resume, Michelle will be adding one more credit to it when she packs up and heads overseas for a starring role in the West End production of Chicago.

Well I guess I can announce my role of Roxie Hart in the London West End’s production of CHICAGO!!!!!,” Michelle excitedly tweeted on her Twitter page. “I’m very excited about my new role…..one of my dreams was to perform on the West End in London.”

Michelle’s stint begins in July. Chicago is currently playing in London’s Cambridge Theatre.
