//New Music: Miley Cyrus As Hannah Montana And David Archuleta – I Wanna Know You//
Uneven duets are a real drag. You know, the kind where one singer obviously owns the other vocally? Yeah… So unhot. I just knew that’d be the case when I heard that season 7 American Idol runner-up and one of Neon Limelight’s top five male vocalists of 2008 David Archuleta would be teaming up with Disney darling Miley Cyrus for a vocal match-up on Cyrus’s hit show Hannah Montana. Not that I’m completely anti-Miley’s voice, it’s just Miley and David? Embarrassment on the horizon!
Surprisingly, that wasn’t the case! Their duet, “I Wanna Know You,” debuted on Radio Disney yesterday in its entirety. The puppy-love song is a thousand percent catchy, and even though Archie clearly sings circles around Miss Montana, the pairing is pretty sweet!

THANK YOU. David was a million times better than Miley. It was really disappointing though. The producers took out a TON of David’s parts that were on the show’s version of the duet. They put waaaaay too much Miley in it. It kind of seemed like David was just singing back up. :/ Oh well, David is still AMAZING.
Where is Archuleta’s solo part? It’s painful to listen to Miley’s coarse voice alone. Archuleta’s musical gift makes this Disneyish song better. His duet with Ryan Tedder, Apologize, is one of my all time favorite duet. Somebody has to do something with this boy’s enormous talent.
Both David and Miley sound fine, but there is not enough of David singing. Miley should have shared more of the song if she wanted to do a duet with David. Miley is not that great a singer and David is a superior talent and I was willing to listen to the song (I did so twice), but I need not bother again. Sorry, this is not my idea of a duet. Boooo!
yeah they took away the best part of the song, when david sings his solo part. His voice is so pleasant to hear, and it’s so sexy and romantic too..I love his tone..But anyway, something is something, and i like the song for david.
I would have to agree with the other comments here. Without David’s solo parts, he has been relegated to a backgroud singer in a Miley song. Sort of ruins the purpose of the duet. Bad decision.

I agree with all the other comments. I’m so dissapointed that they took out Davids solo. I was excited about the song. Not anymore. Why did Miley have to hog the song?
We and they know David’s voice is %1000 better than Miley’s. Not only his voice but also the emotion, the power, the magic that David has when he sings is completely unique. Nobody can sing like David! his pure, genuine, beyond amazing talent has not comparison.
I guess because it is Miley Cirus’ show, Disney decided to do what they did to the song. But they shouldn’t have advertise it as a duet. I really don’t care for Miley Cirus. If David’s solo part is not included on the iTunes version, sorry…I’m not buying the song. If the profit is going to Miley Cirus alone, why bother spending my money on her?

This is very disappointing!!! I love Miley, and I was glad she’s doing a duet with David whom I love the most, but what happened to the part that David was singing on the show? I thought that was part of the whole song!! Now, no matter how i like Miley, I don’t think I will buy this song anymore!!!

I’m sorry to say, I agree with the majority here. It makes no sense to take Davids solo that was at the beginning, out of the song. I was having a bit of a hard time considering it a duo when it was there! Now that its taken out I am no longer interested in buying it. Too bad, Disney could’ve made some bucks with both David and Miley sharing the spotlight. Goes to show…money really does talk!

The song itself is very nice. Cute, catchy, well-produced. But it’s not really a duet. It’s more like Miley Cyrus ft. David Archuleta as a background singer. I much prefer the version they performed on the show, where both singers had solos.
Totally agree with you guys. Here’s hoping the version available to buy will include Archie’s solo. The more David, the better the song will get. ;)

I wanna know where David’s part went? What happened with this version? This was not the one they had in the promo videos..David’s part are being sang by Miley now..WHY IS THAT???? Well, I’ll be the first to disagree with all of the comments. Miley’s voice is far more mature and vocally interesting than David’s totally uninspired voice. Let’s face it, if he looked like Susan Boyle, he wouldn’t have gotten to the top 2 of American Idol. Not to mention, hearing him live and in the studio, they put so many layers of engineering on his voice to make him sound mature, when he just comes off robotic. I thought his part was totally boring, and I am ecstatic they got rid of it, because he is definitely not even close to being as talented as Miley.

What you hear on his concerts are not lipsync..what you hear is his own voice..You should hear him sing sans accompaniement..ACAPELLA!!! OH WAIT..David also puts his own runs & riffs on his songs…Please..if you want to lambast David..make sure you have all the legitimate credentials to do so..There are singers out there whose voices are very different with their recorded songs because of the magic of LAYERS OF ENGINEERING…they cannot sing live or on the spot if they do not have their album with them..WELL..FYI..DAVID is not among them. ‘NUFF SAID…
Qwerty, I think you mixed up Miley Cyrus with David Archuleta. Miley is the one who cannot sing live and needs a ton of studio vocal processing to make her voice sound acceptable. One only needs to check out the thousands of live concert videos of David to hear that his voice needs no enhancements. Your post gave me a good laugh.

On the episode, David and Miley sound great together. Don’t know why the Disney radio edit cut out his lines and the brilliant harmonizing, but I’m happy David got the exposure from Miley’s show. Hope they really are good friends.

I was really surprised to find that I loved this song when it was leaked before the show coz I’m not a Miley fan. This version, however, has removed most of David’s portion of the duet. What a STUPID decision! They’ve relegated him to a backup singer and the song has lost its’s magic. She’s practically a billionaire and shouldn’t be that insecure.
I had planned on buying the song off iTunes, but I won’t be doing so now. It’s not that good anymore. Restore David’s part, and I’ll buy for myself and friends. Otherwise, no.
Well after listening to the promo spots I watched the show liked the duet even though I’m not a Miley/Hannah fan, but it was a nice duet and decided I was going to buy if released. Now they took out David’s part and is no longer a duet and took out what made this song. Now I’m not going to buy. I’ll buy some more of
David’s song like Somebody Out There or Works For Me.
