//Colbie Caillat Ready To ‘Breakthrough’ On Sophomore Album//

Californian singer/songwriter Colbie Caillat made a mellow, yet powerful entrance into the music world in 2007 when her single “Bubbly” became an unstoppable hit.

The single’s success propelled her debut album, CoCo, to near-double platinum status and landed her on the concert bill with heavy hitters like The Goo Goo Dolls and John Mayer.

Caillat will follow-up CoCo this summer with the release of her sophomore album, Breakthrough.

“I can’t wait to share all my new songs with everyone,” Caillat says. “I’ve taken this time to look back at where I was and realized I’ve broken through a personal barricade, which is why I’ve named the album Breakthrough.”

Many of the songs on the new album are written around experiences Caillat had while touring for two years and what she went through adjusting when she returned home.

She spent some time in Hawaii bouncing ideas for songs off of a group of songwriters of her choice which included previous writing partners Jason Reeves and Mikal Blue, and newly minted American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi.

Breakthrough will be in stores August 25.
