First things first: Yes, Melanie Fiona was born in Toronto, Canada but the singer/songwriter currently resides in the most American of cities, New York, so it’s completely cool that she was chosen to sing the Star Spangled Banner at the Jordan Brand Classic game last month.
Thing two: I need to know how long it took her to memorize the lyrics to the song. Many-a-Anerican made star have fallen victim to embarrassing line flubs while performing the song but Mel didn’t miss a beat.
Thing three: Was this a basketball game or was it church? Her impeccable voice most definitely raised the holy ghost!
Thing four: Watch the video and be sure to pick up Melanie’s debut album, The Bridge, when it hits stores this summer.
