The final three men of American Idol had to sit through two power-packed performances before learning who will have the goods to take it all the way to the finals next week. The wait for judge and fan favorite Adam Lambert got a little bit easier when performer number two, Katy Perry, hit the stage with a not so subtle show of support for the AI contestant.
Donning a silky cape with Adam’s name along the back, Katy got all Adam fangirl as she took the American Idol stage to perform her new single Waking Up In Vegas off her breakthrough album One of the Boys. Add Katy’s name to the growing list of people predicting next week’s finale outcome.

I was THRILLED to see Katy sportin that Adam Lambert cape! When Ryan announced he was goin to finals I know she was probably shoutin’ “Go Adam! Itsya birthday!” I knew from the auditions that Adam was sumthin special and now the whole world knows! GO TEAM ADAM!!! you GOT this baby!

I think that it is ridiculous how Katy Perry favored Idol contestant “Adam Lambert”. If you were the other runner ups, how do you think you would feel. I think it was a cruel, immature act on her part and why the heck didn’t the American Idol STAFF say anything about it. There should be no favortism at this part of the stage. If Adam Lambert wins, it will be becasue of favortism. Especially coming from a horrible pop star wearing his name on her cape supporting more people to vote for him during the finale. Boo, to Katy Perry for promoting Adam Lambert, how would you feel if you were the other contestant going against someone that has famous people rooting and supporting them. They should have ended it last night. Now at this point, AMERICAN IDOL IS NO FUN!
of course its favoritism, IT IS A POPULARITY CONTEST!!! no matter what you do, it is the america’s votes that will make them win. Not the judges’ or mentors’ or Katy Perry’s.
It’s called showbiz… Katy has met Adam before, she’s singing a song about Vegas, Adam has had several references to him being Elvis.. you figure it out.
Katy donned the cape to create controversy about Katy so you would be talking about her today… and look what happened you are..

wow! How rude and immature it was of Katy to have an opinion. I mean damn, Slash only agreed to be a mentor this year why? Because of danny gokey? what a joke. Katy merely exercised her freedom of speech. We can still do that in America right?
American Idol is promoting Popularity + Talent. In showbusiness – it is who is popular that gets the attention. And that’s just what Adam has – enigma, likeability, uniqueness — so we cannot blame Katy Perry — it is what it is — So if Adma wins then it is the verdict if Kris wins wins then it is what it is — vote for Adam!!!!
Ha Ha,yay Katy! The show studio is right there in Lambert’s neighborhood – you can’t expect him not to know people, especially being such a nice, friendly, cute, talented guy.

I agree that Adam Lambert is a talented musician/performer…BUT Katy Perry doesn’t quite get the concept here. And as far as HER performance goes, she once again proved she cannot sing live. Her performance was painful on several levels. I dont think she could have made the top ten on American Idol…not even close.
