//New Music: Amerie – Tell Me U Love Me//
R&B singer Amerie has found a new label home in Island Def Jam and is set to release her third album, In Love & War, this summer. OK, so technically it’s her fourth album. Her last, Because I Love It, got an international-ish release but stayed on the self in the US due to its singles not exactly taking off and her subsequent release from her last label deal.
She’s back with a new single from the new album, “Tell Me U Love Me,” and it’s got the all too familiar Washington, DC-area go-go sound the city’s native child tapped into for her biggest hit, “One Thing.” That wouldn’t be a bad thing. Quite a few artists experimented with infusing go-go into their sound (Chris Brown, Eve, Beyonce), but Amerie sticks with it so much, it’s like she’s experience little to no growth since the release of her album Touch.
