This summer, singer/actresses Alyson Michalka of Aly & AJ and High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens will participate in the biggest band competition around–well sorta. The former Disney darlings will appear in the new flick Bandslam (formerly Rock On or Will), based around the fictional battle of the bands.
Aly stars as Charlotte Barnes who is looking to create a band to whip her ex’s band into the ground at the competition and Vanessa plays outcast Sa5m (“the 5 is silent”) who eventually turns into the lead character’s love interest.
There may not be any Oscar award winning performances in this new movie but it looks like a whole lot of fun. Watch the movie’s official trailer above. Bandslam is set for an August 14th release.
