//Rihanna To Testify At Next Chris Brown Court Hearing//

 

Chris Brown is due in court June 22, but he won’t be the only superstar in the room. Rihanna will also make an appearance.

Attorneys for the two singers were in a Los Angeles courtroom today (May 28) for a scheduled hearing in Brown’s ongoing felony assault case. Brown is being charged for allegedly attacking Rihanna in the wee hours of February 8, the morning of the 51st annual Grammy Awards.

Donald Etra, Rihanna’s attorney, told the media outside the court that the pop singer will be called to testify against Brown at the preliminary hearing for the case, at which it will be determined if there is enough evidence for a trial.

“The DA has advised me that she will be subpoenaed [to testify],” People.com quoted Etra as saying. “She will absolutely comply.”

Mark Geragos, Brown’s attorney, learned his motion to obtain confidential LAPD records to find out who was behind numerous leaks in the case, including the horrific photo of a battered Rihanna, was unsuccessful. He had planned to use the information to have the case dismissed, but L.A. Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg said that while the leaks were a concern, they do not substantially impact Brown’s case.

“It matters to me not if your client is high-profile or not,” she said. “I don’t believe you’re entitled [to demand access to police records].”

“The allegation is that some civilian or officer got the photo to TMZ,” E! News quoted. ”Did it impact the arrest of your client on that date? I think not.”

Neither Brown or Rihanna were in court today.

Both continue to try to move forward with their lives and careers. Rihanna is currently in London working on her fourth album, and Brown has been in Orlando, Florida enjoying some downtime and working on his upcoming album. He thanked fans for their support and proclaimed “I aint a monster” in a video released this week.
