Fall is shaping up to be a great season for new album releases. Two long-awaited recordswhich will undoubtedly be among the biggest from vets Whitney Houston and Jay-Z are set for release in Septemeber
Houston will release her as-yet-untitled comeback album on September 1.
The album, which has been in the works for a number of years and bragged about extensively by Houston’s mentor Clive Davis, will follow-up her 2002 effort Just Whitney.
Writing and production on the album will come from Akon, Ne-Yo, Will.i.am, and Sean Garrett.
Ten days later on September 11, hip hop fans will finally get to purchase Jay-Z’s highly anticipated The Blueprint 3, according to Billboard.com.
The rapper, who recently left his long-time record label, Def Jam Records, will release the set through his Roc Nation label with distribution by Atlantic Records.
Lead producer Kanye West recently spoke about the album to MTV.com, saying it will be an autotune-free zone. “We actually removed all the songs with Auto-Tune off of his album, to make the point that this is an anti-Auto-Tune album, even though I released an album that has all Auto-Tune,” he said. ”It doesn’t matter to me.”
