//Behind The Scenes: Jordin Sparks Offers Fans A Preview Of Her New Album//

During a chilly week in New York City, 19-year-old American idol winner Jordin Sparks met up with ultra talented songwriters Toby Gad and Lindy Robbins to write and record some songs for her upcoming sophomore album, Battlefield.

Jordin offered a little behind the scenes look into the recording process and played a bit of the new songs for fans on Gad’s YouTube channel.

On day one, she recorded the upbeat, poppy “Vertigo.” Day two brought the pop/rock number “Let It Rain.” The beautiful ballad “Faith” is recorded on day three.

Jordin also talks a bit about her place in the industry and the pressures to be thin like her pop peers. “I always get questions like ‘Is there any pressure for you to lose weight?’ and I’m like yeah,” she said. ”Not from anyone else but from myself just because sometimes I feel like I’m not good enough. But then I realize I’m one of the few people that are different.”

Battlefield is in stores July 21.
