//Jermaine Jackson Performs “Smile” At Michael Jackson’s Memorial//
All of the performances and speeches made at Michael Jackson’s memorial today at the Staples Center were touching, Michael’s childhood pal actress Brooke Shields shared one of the best personal stories about the King of Pop. Watch her speech here.
As she tearfully remembered the great moments she spent with Michael throughout the years, the fondness he had for laughing (“MJ’s laugh was the sweetest and purest laugh of anyone’s I have ever know,” she said), and recited a line from Michael’s favorite song, the Charlie Chaplin classic “Smile” (which MJ covered for his album HIStory) she set up an incredibly moving performance of the song by Jermaine Jackson.
And although the lyrics of the song tells everyone to smile though your heart may be breaking, viewers couldn’t help but get teary watching Jermaine try his best not to break down while trying to sing for his beloved little brother.

Germaine’s performance was amazing. I think that was his best performance ever. He sang the song with all his heart. His voice, his expression……..outstanding!!!
This whole tribute to him was amazing!!! I was crying the whole time!! Jermine did a wounderful job, I know Micheal is smiling.
Jermaine could barely keep it together at the end. Sigh. What a fitting tribute to Michael for Jermaine to sing his favorite song. I agree that it was his best performance ever!
