Last year Taylor Swift attended the MTV Video Music Awards for the first time as a Best New Artist nominee and giddy fan. This year she’ll be a performer.

The 19-year-old country crossover cutie is the first performer confirmed to take the stage at the big show taking place September 13, hosted again by British comedian Russell Brand.

“I’m so excited that MTV and the VMAs have invited me to perform, because I think this year’s show will be unlike anything they’ve ever done!” Taylor gushed.

Swift will perform a revamped version of her latest single “You Belong With Me,” from her smash album, Fearless, and she’s looking to make her performance a memorable one. “I love incorporating theatrics into my performances, and the VMAs have always allowed artists to run with that.”
